Instant grape leaf analysis, built by growers for growers

VitiAlert – Early Access
In the demanding world of viticulture, timely and accurate assessment of vine health is essential for yield quality and vineyard sustainability. At WSL, we have built VitiAlert to provide growers a fast and accessible tool for preliminary leaf assessment – right from their smartphone, completely free.
What VitiAlert does:
VitiAlert provides an instant, preliminary analysis of grape leaf health from a single photo. It’s designed to assist growers to prioritise scouting efforts, prepare for specialist visits, or flag potential issues.
VitiAlert is in Early Access and still learning. The model has been trained on controlled research data and is now being refined with real vineyard conditions. The user might encounter inaccuracies. Your feedback help us improve!
When to use it:
- During weekly scouting when something looks unusual;
- after weather events (heat, rain, wind);
- training field teams to flag leaves for follow-up.
How to get a good photo:
- take a photo of one leaf only, front side facing camera
- plain background if possible (hand, paper, soil)
- good light (bright shade, avoid harsh shadows)
- fill the frame (avoid cutting edges)
- hold steady and tap to focus
Built on science
VitiAlert is powered by VitiNet, a deep learning model trained on thousands of grape leaf images. Development was supported by competitive, peer-reviewed access to MareNostrum5 (Barcelona Supercomputing Center) via the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking program, bringing research-grade AI to the field.

Free, always, for everyone
We believe advanced tools shouldn’t be limited to large operations. VitiAlert will remain free, bringing advanced technology accessible to small and family-owned growers.
Privacy by design
User’s images are analysed instantly and never stored or used for training our models.
